Analysis of a Lana Del Rey

This magazine advert for her album 'born to die' has the exact same font and image as the album cover, this is often done with magazine adverts as it allows the target audience and people interested in the album know what the album cover will look like.

The colour of text (white on blue and blue on white) makes the text stand out so it is very easy to obtain all the needed information without needing to re read the advert.
The size of the font of the title and name of the artist is used to make it stand out from the other information as it is the most important on the advert, the other information, such as where it is available and the record label is smaller how ever it is in a different style which again can make it stand out. All of the text that is present all stands out in different ways and will attract attention from different people because of this, all text and pictures in the advert are used to draw attention to the advert and persuade people the buy the album.

Analysis of artist poster

This is a tour poster from two bands that are well known in the genre I am using for my music video. As you can see the names of the tour is written in bold in the centre of the poster which makes it stand out. The colour of the tiles fit in with the theme of the tour as red can connote evil. Both of the artists names are very bold at the top of the poster right above the pictures of each artist, they use the fonts that the artists always use to keep with the motif of the artist. The tag line at the top of the poster 'From Hell It Came.' fits in with the theme of the tour as well as the artists. There is little information on this poster, it only gives the minimum amount of information needed for example artists tour dates locations and places to buy the tickets. The colours of the poster (red and black) fit well with the theme of evil and hell.I chose to analyse a tour poster so I was able to see the similarities and differences between tour posters and posters for an album release, and have a better understand of how pictures and text are used to sell tickets or albums.

Analysis of a Pearl Jam advert

This is a magazine advert for an album released by Pearl Jam in 2009.
The large image seen in this advert is identical to the album cover, this helps people interested in buying the album locate it in stores and on iTunes.
The very bright pictures and bold text help the advert to stand out in a music magazine and will grab the attention of the magazine reader. in this advert they have included quotes and ratings from people that have reviewed the album before it was released. They have also included information on which format the album is being released in and the main place it is being sold.
The main information is in bold white writing on a black background which stands out, the less important information such as  the bands website and the record label website are at the bottom of the poster in a much smaller font which is common for magazine adverts. All the the texts that is present is there to try and engage the reader and persuade them to by the album.

Analysis of a Deaf Havana digipack

This is a digipack for the fourth studio album by Deaf Havana

This digipack has only four which include a front cover a tracklist, a CD as well as a credits panel with a lyric booklet behind it. Each panel looks slightly different however they all fit into the same theme of a young boy dressed as an older man. As all of the panels link together and the dark almost dull colours used link to some of the videos for song in this album. Rather than this digipak following a motif it starts a new one as the digipack to the deluxe follows the same theme as this is, only changing slightly because of the additional and re-recorded songs.
The colours and general theme of the digipak also link to the theme and narrative of the videos and lyrics present in this album as well as linking to the views of the members of the band.
