Analysis of a digipack in our chosen genre

Ministry

This digipack is for the album 'From Beer To Eternity' by the band 'Ministry', I have chosen to analyse this digipack as it is a band in the same genre and it is one of the bands that influenced Kill The Freak.
This digipack has six sides, including a picture booklet, a picture panel as well as one other panel that cannot be seen. All panels follow the same theme which is set by the front cover, because of this and the quality of the images this digipak looks very professional. The colours used on the digipak are all quite dark and most colours sued are tones of green which is seen throughout there work, including other digipacks as well as videos.

This a screen shot from a song featured on this album, the colours used in the video for example are similar to the colours used in the album artwork. The digipak also links to the theme and narrative of their songs and music videos.

Analysis of a Lana Del Rey

This magazine advert for her album 'born to die' has the exact same font and image as the album cover, this is often done with magazine adverts as it allows the target audience and people interested in the album know what the album cover will look like.

The colour of text (white on blue and blue on white) makes the text stand out so it is very easy to obtain all the needed information without needing to re read the advert.
The size of the font of the title and name of the artist is used to make it stand out from the other information as it is the most important on the advert, the other information, such as where it is available and the record label is smaller how ever it is in a different style which again can make it stand out. All of the text that is present all stands out in different ways and will attract attention from different people because of this, all text and pictures in the advert are used to draw attention to the advert and persuade people the buy the album.

Analysis of artist poster

This is a tour poster from two bands that are well known in the genre I am using for my music video. As you can see the names of the tour is written in bold in the centre of the poster which makes it stand out. The colour of the tiles fit in with the theme of the tour as red can connote evil. Both of the artists names are very bold at the top of the poster right above the pictures of each artist, they use the fonts that the artists always use to keep with the motif of the artist. The tag line at the top of the poster 'From Hell It Came.' fits in with the theme of the tour as well as the artists. There is little information on this poster, it only gives the minimum amount of information needed for example artists tour dates locations and places to buy the tickets. The colours of the poster (red and black) fit well with the theme of evil and hell.I chose to analyse a tour poster so I was able to see the similarities and differences between tour posters and posters for an album release, and have a better understand of how pictures and text are used to sell tickets or albums.

Analysis of a Pearl Jam advert

This is a magazine advert for an album released by Pearl Jam in 2009.
The large image seen in this advert is identical to the album cover, this helps people interested in buying the album locate it in stores and on iTunes.
The very bright pictures and bold text help the advert to stand out in a music magazine and will grab the attention of the magazine reader. in this advert they have included quotes and ratings from people that have reviewed the album before it was released. They have also included information on which format the album is being released in and the main place it is being sold.
The main information is in bold white writing on a black background which stands out, the less important information such as  the bands website and the record label website are at the bottom of the poster in a much smaller font which is common for magazine adverts. All the the texts that is present is there to try and engage the reader and persuade them to by the album.

Analysis of a Deaf Havana digipack

This is a digipack for the fourth studio album by Deaf Havana

This digipack has only four which include a front cover a tracklist, a CD as well as a credits panel with a lyric booklet behind it. Each panel looks slightly different however they all fit into the same theme of a young boy dressed as an older man. As all of the panels link together and the dark almost dull colours used link to some of the videos for song in this album. Rather than this digipak following a motif it starts a new one as the digipack to the deluxe follows the same theme as this is, only changing slightly because of the additional and re-recorded songs.
The colours and general theme of the digipak also link to the theme and narrative of the videos and lyrics present in this album as well as linking to the views of the members of the band.

Friday 11 October 2013

Analysis of a Slipknot digipack

This is a digipack by the artist Slipknot. I am analysing this digipak as it is for a very well known band in a similar genre to our chosen artist.
This digipack has eight sides including lyric booklets, track lists and pictures as well as the CD. Each side of the digipack has a different image however they all tie into the theme. On the inside of the digipak there are four panels that consist of a lyric booklet the CD with an image behind it, a panel containing copywrite and record label information as well as an image of the band. On the outside of the digipack there is another image of the band as an album cover, a picture page that relates to the album and a track list. This looks very professional as all images and ideas fit the same idea and the pre-existing  motifs created by the band. The colours used in the digipak are mostly reds black and white, and some blue, this is similar to other albums and photos they have done before this digipak and the theme of dark colours, as seen in a more resent digipack:
Similar to the vast majority of there videos and their photo-shoots they always wear masks and boiler suits which is seen in this digipack as well as seeing the barcode and S symbols seen in the majority of their work.

The colours that are used in their digipacks are often seen in other digipacks in this genre, this is because the dark colours seen will often link to their videos and 'dark' themes that run through there lyrics.

Digipack and Magazine advert importance

A digipak is a type of packaging for a CD or a DVD. It consists of cardboard panels and panels that can hold either CDs or DVDs. Digipacks are important because it allows fans of artists or people interested in the CD or DVD to get something other than just a CD. Digipacks often contains other things such as additional information such as tracklists, lyrics books as well as pictures of the artist and other pictures that link to the album.

Magazine adverts allow artists to advertise the album as well as show fans and other potential fans what they are releasing a new album. A magazine advert often shows the band name, album title and a picture that links with the cover image. Most if not all magazine adverts also have shops and website where the album can be purchased. They will also often have reviews from other music magazines and record company information.

Theories in music videos

the cultivation theory/ the drip effect:

The cultivation theory suggests that over time exposer to media such as television and music videos will 'cultivate' the viewers perception of reality.
In relation the music videos this theory states that messages sent to the audience though the music video will have an affect on the audience.
For example:
  •  In many mainstream music video you will see voyeuristic treatment of a woman's body  as stated by Andrew Goodwin. When a male audience sees a music video where women are represented in this way for example Robin Thike's 'Blurred Lines', they may also begin to treat woman in this way as they seen it in a mainstream form of media.
  • You may also see a  large number of music videos where alcohol and drugs are glamourised, when an audience, especially a younger audience see this they may believe that it is acceptable for them to act in a similar way and not understand the effects of this because they only see the glamorise side of it in the music video.

Lip syncing and its importance

What is lip syncing?

Lip syncing is when the visuals of someone singing in linked completely in time with the sound. This is done during the editing process and can sometimes be very difficult to do perfectly. If the lip syncing is good you wont think about it while watching the video. However if the lip syncing is badly done it is very noticeable.

Why is lip syncing important?

Lip syncing is important because if the lip syncing isn't perfectly in time it can distract the audience from listening or watching the rest of the video.

How do help insure good lip syncing:

  • Insure the singer knows the lyrics well
  • make sure you singer can hear the song while lip syncing to be able to get the correct timings
  • It can also help if instead of mouthing the words to singer sings along to the song so you get the correct lip movements

Biffy Clyro- god and Satan

This is video has good lip syncing because you don't think about it while you watch the video. The lip movements are in the time with the singing. It appears that he simply singing along and you don't think about the lip syncing.

Identifing Goodwin's Seven Codes in Music Videos

Blink 182: All the small things

this video shows five out of the seven codes. The first code seen is where they demonstrate genre characteristics by performing to a crowd of fans.
there are a large number of close ups of all three members of the band, this is due to demands that are made by the record label.
there are motifs that follow through their other work, this band often has comical themes in there video, many of there video also involve shots of the three of them performing together.

They also show another code, of women being portrayed in a voyeuristic manner when you see the woman on the beach wearing a small bikini.
The code that is mainly seen in this video is the one that relates to inter-textual references, this is because the entire video is based around Blink 182 doing impressions of famous pop artists videos.

Saturday 28 September 2013

Goodwins Seven Codes

As part of the research our class carried out on music videos we looked at Goodwin's seven codes for music video, most music videos will have at least four of the seven codes:
  1. 'Demonstrate genre characteristics': Stage performance for metal for example AC/DC shoot to thrill, or a dance routine for a boy band for example N Sync Bye Bye Bye
  2. There are demands from the record label which often includes a need for lots of close ups of the artist, for example Katy Perry often has a lot of close ups in her videos
  3.  There are links between the lyrics and visuals. This can either amplify, illustrate or contradict the lyrics, for example in ‘Single Ladies’ by Beyoncé
  4.  there are links between the music and the visuals
  5. the artist may develop motifs and iconography that recur across their work, in Lady Gaga's videos there is always a dance routine at some point.
  6. there is often a notion of 'looking' such as screens within screens. There is also a voyeuristic treatment of the female body for example Robin Thike's video there are a number of shots with women treated in a voyeuristic way.
  7. there are often inter-textual references to films, tv shows or other music videos. for example Blink 182's video to all the small things, they mock other music videos from different genres.

Initial ideas

Our group has decided to do a music video for an unsigned band called 'Kill the Freak' as this is the first video created for this band we had more freedom when deciding what we would like to feature in the video.
The song we have chosen to make the video is called 'I'm a Freak' which has lyrics that link closely with mental illness.
For these reasons out initial ideas are to set this video in a mental institution. The front man of band will play the main character in the video. We plan to only film parts of the bands body/ instruments to keep some mystery around the band. We also wanted to show how the main character descends into insanity by writing the song title 'I'm a Freak' all over the characters arms and face. We used videos such as Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold for inspriation, this is because the video has a similar theme to ours and we wished to used similar effects to the ones seen in this music video as we felt they worked well in the video. We also took inspiration from the music video 'Before I Forget' by 'Slipknot' this is because in this video the faces of the band members are never seen which is done to maintain the unknown identity of the band members. Although we used this idea in our music video we did it for a different reason, we wish the instruments to be the focus during the performance shots rather than the people band members playing them.

Initial notes on a music magazine advert

In adverts for albums in music magazines there is often every little information. For example in this advert for You Me At Six there is only seven pieces of information in this advert. It only shows The band and album name, the release date and where it can be found. The picture that is used is also always linked to the album cover, for example in this advert the picture is the same as the album cover. They used yellow font for the release date to make it stand out and use white writing for the majority to make it stand out from the dark background.

Analysis of a past pupils work

The genre of this video is very similar to the genre of the artist which is pop.
This video has a narrative that is very typical as it portrays a break up.
In this video we see performance scenes as well as a break up which is what people would except to see in this video, and there is very little that in unexpected.
In this video there are no obvious intertextual references.
The narrative in this video shows how two people cope after a break up.
In this video we only see one stage of Todorov's five stages, which is disruption. We only see this stage because we see then after they have broken up and there is no attempt to repair the situation.
There are two recognisable character however in this video it is difficult to tell if either of the two people are the protagonist or antagonist.
There are no links clear links between the lyrics and visuals in this video.
In this video genre is represented in a non stereotypical manner as men and women are portrayed as being equal in this narrative.
The artist appear in the video but is not represented as a star.
The video is set in various places set as a house, woods, and town streets.
The video is in black and white which may connote the sadness felt by thw woman after the breakup.
Most of the shots seen in this video are either mid or tracking shots.
The cuts vary in speed throughout the video but are often on beat with the song. The speed of the cuts increase as the song becomes more powerful.
I believe the target audience of this video are fans of Adele or females between the ages of 15 and 20.
I believe this is a successful video as it contains a clear narrative that fits the general theme of the lyrics. It also has a nice mix of performance and narrative shots.

The Purpose of a Music Video

The main purpose of music videos to Promote an artists work and advertise the artist. Another purpose of a music video is to entertain the target audience of the artist and leave a last impression on the audience so they remember the video and the artist.

Music video are a marketing device that allows the artist to advertise themselves and use them of another way to entertain their fans as well as the public, they can promote their songs and spark interest from the public that aren't already aware of the artist, by showing videos on music channels for example Kerrang! or 4Music the public are introduced to the band, the band also gain money from being played on the channel and the interest it sparks within the public will lead to an increase in sales for that band. Music videos can help sell merchandise from the band as well as other comapines for example The Blackout! sell t shirts with lyrics on them that link to songs and msic videos.
A good example of how to sell a music video is seen in an All Time Low video to 'I Feel Like Dancin' where in the narrative we see the sterotypical ways in which some artists make marketing through product placement and using intertextuality and voyeurisnm.

History of the Music Video

A music video is a video created to promote the artist; it can range from being the length of the song to becoming a short film. The footage in a music video is created solely for the purpose of being used in the video and it is rare to see a modern music video that uses footage that was not intended for a music video.

The first video recorded performance was by Bessie Smith, it was shown in cinemas between 1929 and 1932, this is technically not a music video as the sound on the video is live and it wasn’t created to promote the artist.

In the 1940’s Disney created Fantasia; these were animated short films which were played with classical music, the music was created for the film rather than the short film being created for the music.

Music promos appeared in 1950’s with the introduction of duke boxes so certain members of the public were able to select popular music tracks. Cab Calloway released a live action video to his song Minnie the Moocher, which was performed in front of a live audience, the footage used was not created solely for a promotional music video it was again like Bessie Smith created for an entertainment purpose.

From the 1950’s to 60’s Scopitone duke boxes were first seen being released in France, the consisted of a number of videos of artists performing their songs, it was very rare to see these duke boxes for the public to use as they were expensive to use.

In 1964 The Beatles created the first music film for their song ‘Hard Day’s Night’ which was the first film of that kind to be created. Later in 1967 they also created videos for ‘Penny Lane’ and ‘Strawberry Fields’ Strawberry Films was a very psychedelic film with little footage created for the purpose of being used in the music video.  In 1966 Bob Dylan release a video ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ this video was made to be ironic and random, as the words held up on the card are often spelt wrong.

Video recording and editing equipment became cheaper in the 1970’s and in 1975 Queen released a video for Bohemian Rhapsody which is classed as the first proper music video.

In 1981 MTV was launched, this was the first 24 hour music channel, the first song played was ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’ by the Buggles, this video showed how the launch of MTV was the end of radio.
During the 80’s music videos were showing more of a plot and many videos such as Michael Jackson’s Thriller which became a short film by itself.

Top of the Pops was also launched but were very careful as to what they would show on the show. Producers would begin to create a video that would be banned so they could use the controversy to promote their release. Examples of this were Duran Duran’s ‘Girls on Film’ and Fankie Goes to Hollywood with ‘Relax’.

In 1995 Michael Jackson released a video to Scream with his sister, this video cost $7000000 to produce and is the most expensive production ever created.

In 2005 Youtube and iTunes was released,  these releases meant that people could listen to music on the go and what videos whenever they wanted to.

Textual analysis of John Newman

The genre of the video and artist are both pop/ soul.
There is a typical narrative as the couple meet across a room 'love at first site'.
There are both expected and unexpected parts in this video: it is expected that we would see a performance part in this video however there is a very unexpected  part at the end of the when the couple get hit by a van.
Three of the five stages of equilibrium are seen in this video however disruption is seen twice because of the crash at the end of the video.
There is only one link between lyrics and visuals which is the idea of love.
In the video it is represented that women need men around her to be able to go out to a club with used to be very stereotypical.
The video is some what colourful bit still shows some darkness which reflects the lyrics and narrative.
There are low angles used on the couple to show power, close ups are also used to show emotions of people in the video.
The editing it quite fast paced to show how quickly the relationship moved.
The target audience for the video is people between the age of 17 to 24 demographic group E/D as well as fans of the band.

Monday 8 July 2013

Textual analysis of Katy Perry

The genre of the video as well the the artist  is pop.
The theme of the video is overcoming obstacles but the video portrays this in an unconventional way.
It is expected to see Katy Perry perform which is what we see.
There is an inter-textual reference to eye of the tiger by survivor throughout the song.
In this video three of the five stages of equilibrium is seen: disruption, recognition and equilibrium.
There is only one main character in this video which is Katy Perry and she is represented as a heroine in this video.
There are links between the lyrics and the visuals, he often sings about tigers in this song which are often seen in this video.
In this video women are represent as strong and independent which isn't an overly stereotypical representation.
The colours used in this video are very bright to show the happy tones within the video and the song.
A lot of low angles are used on Katy to show her power on this song.
The editing in the video is continuous and quite slow paced but is fast paced in places to convey different emotions.
The target audience for this video would be fans of Katy Perry of ages between 14 and 18 they achieve this by showing Katy Perry and using bright colours. The demographic group the video is aimed at would be E/D.

Textual analysis of All American Rejects

The genre of this video alternative which is similar to the genre of the band; rock/ alternative.
The narrative of the video is not typical because you rarely see a troubles relationship between neighbours, it is usually seen between a couple.
There are expected and unexpected parts of the video: it is expected that you would see the band performing at some point on the video. However it was unexpected that the lyrics didn't match the narrative of the video.
The story line of the video revolves around between two neighbouring houses. Each house has a couple that are completely opposite and argue because of this.
In this video three of the five stages of equilibrium. Disruption, recognition and equilibrium.
There are four recognisable character however it is difficult to define what type of character they are.
Gender is represented in a slightly stereotypical way, the men are badly behaved and it is left for the girlfriends to control them.
Bright colours are used throughout the video to show the comical side of the video.
Low angles and point of view shots are used a lot to show the power the two men can have over each other. Point of view shots are also used to show what is happening to them over time.
The editing it quite fast paced and continuous.
The target audience for this video are for fans of the band between arpund 14 and 20, demographic group E/D.

Saturday 6 July 2013

Textal Analysis of Artic Monkeys

We also did a group analysis on this video, for similar reason to the Plan B video however we used a different genre as we wanted to see how conventions and representation can change in different genres.

Arctic Monkeys- When the Sun Goes Down

The genre of the video is alternative, this is the same of the band which are classed as indie/ alternative

There is a relatively common narrative, it involves a relationship but has a large amount of real life situations found is certain social groups.

It was expected that where would be drug dealing in the video from reading the lyrics. However the band did not appear in the video once which was quite unexpected.

There are references to other media, this is because the song was used in an independent film, and therefore there is a large amount of footage from the short film seen in this video.

The story line involves a drug dealer and a sex worker

The theme of the video is relationships

There are recognisable characters such as the main female character and the main male character which are both lower class.

The types of character: chavs/lower class follows the lyrics quite closely, and there is also a reference to Roxxane which is another film

There are representations of class, with lack of jobs. Gender showing men are dominant, age- the older have more power, careers- as sex workers and the video being located on a council estate

As the characters can be seen as chavs, they have a stereotypical sense of fashion, jobs and location.

The artist are independent and don’t appear in the video so are not made out to be stars.

All of the actors seen in the video are independent.

The video is set in a public place where there is a higher level of crime

There are a large amount of grey and dull tonnes seen in this video to connote the depressing storyline and location

There are everyday situations seen in this video, the fancy typography contrasts from the story/ narrative

The editing in this video only really involves are large amount of fasted paced cuts

The target audience for this video would be fans of the band as well as fans of the film,

The demographic group for this music video is E/D

Textual Analysis of Plan B

We did a group analysis of the video so we could better understand how conventions are seen in music videos and how colours, shots and framing are seen in a music video.

Plan B- Writing's On The Wall

What is the genre of the artist/ video? The genre of the video is pop, however the genre of the artist or more toward the rap/ soul genre.

Is there a typical narrative? As the whole the narrative of the video is relatively typical. It involves a seemingly stable relation which throughout the video goes downhill until the end there the character Strickland Banks cheats on his girlfriend.

What is expected? It is expected that you would see Plan B appearing the in the video.

What was unexpected? It was unexpected that there was no attempt to repair the problem by the end of the video.

Are there any references? There are links to other videos as the entire album is based on a character/ alter ego of Plan B, ‘Strickland Banks’ which is also the main character in this video.

There are three of the five stages of TODOROV’s theory of equilibrium; equilibrium, at the beginning when the relationship seems stable, disruption, when the male character does not return home, and recognition when the girlfriend realises there is an issue with her boyfriend not coming home.

In this video there are three recognisable characters, the false hero (the boyfriend) the villain (the girl he cheats with) and the princess (the girlfriend)

The video reflects some of the lyrics in the song, such as “we’ll be no more” showing the relationship was never really very strong.

In this video there are somewhat stereotypical representations of gender, where the woman is seen at home cooking while the main character is out with friends.

The artists alter ego has been represented as a villain as well as being a famous celebrity.

There are two main settings in this video  the home where the woman is seen cooking and a club where the male character is seen with other women.

The dominant colours seen in the video are very pure bright colours seen in the house, to show the innocence of the woman and how she is the victim in this situation. You also see very dark colours in the club showing that the villain in the video is Strickland Banks.

There are a number of low angles seen on Strickland Banks, which shows the power he has, and a number of high angles on the girl to show he vulnerability.

There a number of close ups on Strickland Banks and the woman so show emotion. There is also a full body tilt on the girl he cheats with, this is to attract a male audience. There is a shot of the woman burning herself on a pan, this may connote a burned relationship, there is also a slightly duct angle used as Strickland Banks and his friends walk into another club, which shows that the group are drunk.

In this video there are a number of POV shots from Strickland Banks’ view so we can see things from his perspective.

The editing in this video is fasted paced and continuous of a large amount of cuts.

The video is aimed at fans of Plan B and girls in there early 20’s, this is because there are a large number of characters in their 20’s and Plan B wears a suit which appeals to the girls, it is aimed at a demographic group of E/D

Warner Brothers and the company for the album.

There are things in the video which are part of the image of Plan B, he is seen in a suit and he is also promoted as a popular celebrity.

Textual Analysis- Red Hot Chili Peppers

Red Hot Chili Peppers: 'Under The Bridge'

'Under The Bridge' Written and performed by Red Hot Chili Peppers was released on March 10th 1992.

Genre: The genre of of this video would be either rock or alternative and the genre of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is funk. I would class the genre of the video to be alternative because it is different to most videos being produced in the 1990's.

Narrative: There is no strong narrative to the music video, the majority of the music video is performance by the band while other sections include the lead singer walking through Los Angeles. The performance is expected in the music video as most other videos in the genre at the time were primarily performance. The scenes of the singer walking through the streets were less expected however those scenes fit with the lyrics from the song, The only intertextual reference would be the Los Angeles as that is what the song is about. The video reflects the lyrics because then you hear the lyrics 'The city I live in, the city of angels' he is refering to Los Angeles which appears on the screen. There is no story line to this music video because it is performance strong, thereforte there is a constant state of equilibrium throughout the video. When he walks through the streets you hear lyrics such as 'The city she loves me, Lonely as I am, Together we cry' showing that it is only in the city where he feels he belongs which is reflected in the video.

Represenation: There is very little representation in this video because the only people focussed on are those which are in the band and the opther people seen in the video are not focussed on. The band have a large role in the music video but are not seen as big stars as when they walk down the street the appeare like everyone else.

Camera: A lot of closeups of the band are used throughout the song, this is because the production company calls for this, there are also a large number of long shots used in the performance part of the music video, a number of tracking shots of Los Angeles are also used as that is one of the main themes of the song the video is for.

Real Media Text- Music Video

Paramore- Misery Business:

In this video the story line revolves around an antagonistic female and a number protagonists including the band the music video is for, it implies four of of the five stages of a narrative and shows three of these, disruption, attempt to repair and new equilibrium.

The video is mostly set in a stereotypical American high school as well as a studio for the performance elements of the music video.

the majority of the transitions used are fast paced cuts which makes the video more energetic which links with the energetic perfromance as well as the narrative of the video.
In this video there are very few steroptyical represetations, this is because woman are seen as the main antagonist and protagonist in the video. However, at the same time there are some sterotypicalrepresentation as women are seen as a vitim in this video, the main antagonist is a sterotypical type of woman, she is seen as very promiscuous and thinks overly highly of herself.
This video has around 300 cuts as it is a very fasted paced video.
Panic! At The Dicso- But its Better if You Do:

In this video follows the story of 50's couple where the male goes to an 'illegal' strip club and falls for one of the dancers who turns out to be his wife.
It is mostly set in a 50's burlesque club but is also set in a 50's apartment.

there are a number of close ups of the band featured in the video as well as a number of long shots and tracking shots of other characters in the piece, there are also a number of tilts on female daners in this video, as it reminds the audience of the type of setting the video in is as well as attracting males to watch the video.

most of the transitions used are cuts, this is because it speeds up the story line abd matches the energetic side of the storyline. In this video men are representation in a stereotpical powerful manner. This is known because all the men are in suits while the women are dancing in underwear. The video shows that these men view women as objects rather than people. Also they are doing things they know are wrong, this is known because they are all wearing masks to hide there true identity.
This video has around 130 cuts which fits with the speed of the song.

Biffy Clyro- Biblical:

In this music video we follow the main character ( the lead singer of the band) through a short story that is repeted three times but changed slightly every time to fit with the changing lyrics of the song but inkeeping with the theme of the lyrics which is starting over.

The video is setting in a hotel and surrounding areas in an urban America setting. it is unclear as to why it is set in the hotel at it doesnt seem to link with the storyline of the song.

A number of shots are use such as tracking shots when the main character is walking as well as a number of close ups on him and important object to allow the audience of the video to follow the story.

The majority of transitions used in this music video are cuts (around 100), this is because the cuts moves the narrative along, however the cuts aren't fast because it would not match the speed of the song.
